A flea, a fly and a flu. - Frustrations of an Art Director.
“ Not all work gets to fly but that doesn't mean it gets to be out sick with the flu. Even if some ideas don't make it to the finish line, there is still always something to appreciate like the process, the effort or just the idea itself.
At the end of the day it's the creative process we finally learn from. And of course there is always a next time because for those of us who spend all day creating..... ideas are in endless supply".
The Indian Premiere League
Brush strokes can be bold or delicate depending on the emotion one wants to convey. Using Japanese style bush work in varying intensities the posters bring alive the intoxicating swirl that is The IPL and the moment that represents what is on every players mind.......we are playing to win
Blenders Pride's Kinetic art.
Kinetic art - art that depends on movement for its effects.
Being in a state of high spirits has the potential to create and allow a more uninhibited visual experiences. Our brief was to create this new visual palette while packaging Blenders Pride for a younger today, but still peppering the charm of an older and wiser yesterday. This Inspired us to look at art that was disruptive, that went beyond the traditional and static, encouraging different representations of beauty produced by optical illusions or mechanical movement. Pushing forward the important revival of the tradition of Constructivism, or Constructive art.

Marilyn Munroe & the classic 60's
Blenders Pride is all about " Taste Life in Style " , and their Style icon is Marylin Munroe from the mid 20th century. In the 1960s artists such as Bridget Riley and Victor Vasarely experimented with geometric shapes that distort the viewer’s perception, creating artworks which, although static, give the impression of movement. Taking Inspiration from there we designed visuals for the brief where the clients wanted to have a limited edition pack that embodied Marilyn visually as well as conceptually.
Indulgence, decadence, luxury, style each word is uniquely visually evocative, keeping those words in mind not just as design cues but also integral to the brand identity we crafted posters that embodied each evocation with a single graphic. While still maintaining the hectic visual language and kinetic verve of the earlier packaging. The style of the posters also serves to demonstrate the versatility of the selected visual art form.
City Lights. Your glamour concierge.
Brief from Blenders Pride was simple, with the new changing laws that they can not use the Brand name on the bill boards or any conventional form of advertising. We at Lowe Lintas suggested a surrogate " BP "that was popular in colloquial ways of India.
There is no better metaphor for glamour than a glimmering, shimmering city skyline as dusk approaches the city. The lights, the glitz and the allure are the perfect backdrop to flaunt your style, to strut your stuff, to show what you’re made of. This logo takes these notions of glamour and uses the city lights to create a flowing design that brings alive the Blenders Pride initials. As a whole with fluid movements the graphic mimics the long limbs and soft fabrics that glide a long the surface of any runway, The graphic in the app ascts as an interactive tool guiding you to what you want, giving you want you need and helping you discover that new thing you didnt know about all thought form and movement
Voice India Kids
Branding exercise for year 2017
Designing for children is always more thought provoking than anything else. It just looks simple and sometimes beautiful. For both the projects " Voice Kids & Nataraj Pixy Pencils " there were a few key principles that were used to create a common language that describes how to make great experiences for children.
NATARAJ " Pixy Pencils ".
A graphic design project,
Children make huge developmental leaps every single year of their lives, young children lack the fine motor skills of older children whilst the very act of reading instructions can be a barrier. It makes sense to think about how to design for children in a different way to adults.
Some principles that I normally follow while designing for kids : Rewarding Experience, Moments of Surprise, Challenge & Balance, Delightful Interactions, Natural Discovery, Forgiving Design, Animation with Personality, Immersive dialouge & Consistently Captivating & Authentic.
